SHIPCHEM TAPS NEXTLINX FOR DOCUMENTATION

ShipChem.com, the third-party logistics company launched by Eastman Chemical Co. and Global Logistics Technologies Inc., has selected NextLinx Corp. to provide online trade documentation for all ShipChem shipments moving between the United States, Canada and Mexico.

ShipChem gains access to NextLinx’s Global Knowledge application, which offers companies updated government trade regulations and a landed cost calculator. NextLinx says it can provide information covering duties, taxes and documentation requirements for all chapters of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and all HTS product classifications for 65 countries. The company plans to offer 100 countries by next year.

“The agreement with NextLinx means that ShipChem can offer its customers the convenience and security of global transportation documentation creation as a component of our global e-logistics solution,” said Beat Schweizer, vice president of logistics operations for ShipChem. “The NextLinx solution is part of the comprehensive Internet-based infrastructure that ShipChem is building to meet all of the logistics needs of the chemical and plastics industry.”

ShipChem is using an online system designed by G-Log to manage all of Eastman’s logistics business.
