Shipco expands in Thailand

   Non-vessel-operating common carrier Shipco Transport opened its third office in Laem Chabang, Thailand.
   The new office will join Shipco’s Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi Thai locations.
   Erik Thomle, currently the regional director of Indochina, will be acting as Shipco’s general manager for the new office.
   “By positioning our office in Laem Chabang, we can better service many industrial estates located on the Eastern Seaboard,” Thomle said. “This market is important as it is home to major auto and auto parts manufacturers.”
   Shipco already operates direct import consolidation services from worldwide origins such as Hong Kong, Hamburg, Bremen, Singapore, Shanghai, and Busan into Laem Chabang. Additionally, several export services are in the pipeline, the NVO said.
   Shipco is a subsidiary of Scan-Group, an international shipping and transportation company based in Copenhagen, and has more than 2,000 employees in own offices worldwide.
