Shipco expands LCL service to Brazil

Shipco expands LCL service to Brazil

Non-vessel-operating common carrier Shipco Transport has started a fortnightly, direct less-than-containerload service from Miami to Itajai, Brazil.

The neutral NVO has seen a recent rise in demand for direct service into Brazil's Santa Catarina region. With a direct service to Itajai, freight will bypass the congested Santos port and allow for faster transit times into the region. The direct service also avoids extra handling of cargo and other potential delays due to inland transportation.

Shipco's new LCL service complements nine existing services between the United States and Brazilian ports of Paranagua, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande and Santos. It will be operated in conjunction with Worldwide Alliance member and partner Allink Transportes Internacionais.

Shipco is a subsidiary of Scan-Group, an international shipping and transportation company based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company has more than 1,500 employees worldwide.
