Shipco upgrades Web site

The NVOCC Shipco Transport has announced a major upgrading of its Web site, www.shipco.com, with improved Web technology and new tools within the company’s package of e-commerce tools, collectively known as ‘STi-Online’

“The premise of the site is to provide our customers with a workhorse — something designed specifically to enhance their ability to manage their cargo in our system,” said Klaus Jepsen, president of Shipco Transport, a non-vessel-operating common carrier.

Shipco, which has offices in the Americas, Europe and Asia, said new features on the Web site itself include full office, agent and warehouse listings and a search function for Shipco global less-than-containerload export services. The site also includes links to video clips which give 'how to' demonstrations on various tools within STi-Online.

Shipco Transport, was established in 1988 as a subsidiary of the leading European transportation group, Scan-Shipping A/S, based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The company said its LCL export booking module has been significantly enhanced, and can now automatically rate LCL export bookings — on screen and in the e-mail confirmation — and is customized to each customer.

Pre-prepared documentation associated to any booking can be submitted directly to Shipco, and a sophisticated reports and statistics module has been included.
