SHIPPING LINES JOIN BOLERO.NET PAPERLESS SYSTEM
Evergreen Marine Corp. and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines have signed up with Bolero.net, the paperless communications venture launched in September.
Both Evergreen and Mitsui were amongst six ocean shipping carriers to participate in the electronic system’s test program. The other four carriers were APL, “K” Line, Maersk Sealand and NYK Line.
APL said that it continues to have an interest in Bolero and the kind of electronic service it might potentially provide.
In the shipping and freight forwarding sector, Mercantile, Panalpina, Sumitrans and Allport have also tested Bolero.net.
Bolero is designed to allow for the electronic transmission of all documents and data between parties in a trade chain.
