Singapore Airlines begins Brussels/Chicago freighter service

Singapore Airlines said it has begun freighter service between Belgium and Chicago and Los Angeles in the wake of a revision between the air services agreement between Singapore and Belgium.

The agreement provided so-called “seventh freedom rights” that allow its cargo subsidiary to operate flights between third countries without originating from, or returning to, Singapore.

With the revised agreement, Singapore Airlines Cargo began B747-400 freighter services at the beginning of November, operating once weekly between Brussels and Chicago, and twice weekly circular routings from Brussels to Chicago to Los Angeles and back to Brussels.
