Singapore, the world's busiest container port, handled 16.6 million TEUs through the first seven months of the year, a 14.5 percent increase from the same period last year.
The 2.5 million TEUs is the most Singapore has handled in any month since the global economic crisis began, just besting the 2.4 million TEUs the port handled in March.
