SkyBitz pairs with TMW for enterprise mobility

   Remote asset tracking and information specialist SkyBitz is partnering with TMW Systems on a new integrated trailer tracking solution.
   The integrated SkyBitz-TMWSuite will provide for-hire and private fleet carriers a wider range of services to track and manage fleets. It will be a combination of existing visibility and management services from SkyBitz to send trailer-specific information to the TMWSuite which will then provide a set of planning decisions to improve asset use.
   The solution will provide customers of both companies the ability to monitor and track trailers in TMWSuite for real-time operations information, trailer utilization, and location. The service can also give status information such as whether the trailer is loaded or empty, if the trailer door has been opened or closed, and if a trailer is in motion or stationary.
   One aspect that will help in responses to real-time issues is the ability to identify the nearest trailers and any local idle trailers.
   Kate Gardner, director of information technology at the Taylor Truck Line, said, “We no longer need to open a browser to see the location, check the last event or even check the battery status. The idle trailers are easily viewed and can quickly be exported to Excel for further analysis.”
