Slow growth in Hong Kong container traffic
July container traffic at the port of Hong Kong increased 2.9 percent to 1.92 million TEUs.
The Kwai Chung container terminal posted a year-on-year volume growth in July of 7.2 percent to 1.28 million TEUs. Other port facilities reported a fall in box traffic of 4.6 percent to about 640,000 TEUs.
For the year-to-date Hong Kong’s container throughput is up just 1 percent at 12.6 million TEUs.
