Smith quits Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings
Wake Smith has resigned as chief operating officer at Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc. (AAWW), parent company of Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo.
Smith joined the company as an advisor in September 2000, and has worked in a variety of senior management positions since that time, assuming the post of COO in June 2004. His resignation is effective Oct. 31.
Jeffrey H. Erickson, AAWW’s president and chief executive officer, will assume the post of COO on an interim basis, until a successor to Smith is appointed.
