Smiths Medical unit signs with Exel in Benelux region    Smiths Medical Nederland, a provider of medical and surgical products used in hospitals, has contracted with Exel, a U.K.-based provider of logistics services, to manage logistics operations in the Benelux region of Europe, comprising Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
   “We dispatch over 80 orders a day with products ranging from airway and pain management to implantable fusion ports and critical care monitoring,” said Kees de Jong, managing director for Benelux at Smiths Medical.
   Exel provides inbound freight and warehouse management, pick-and-pack services, and outbound distribution to the hospitals and clinics that are customers of Smiths Medical Nederland, via Exel’s hub facility in Nijmegen, in the Netherlands.
