April throughput at the Port of Long Beach rose 18.7 percent to 485,059 TEUs. At the Port of Los Angeles, April volume was 11.9 percent higher at 595,283 TEUs. Long Beach’s volume is still down 12.9 percent on April 2008 volume and 16.3 percent on April 2007 volume.
Year-to-date, volume at Long Beach is 16.6 percent up at 1.75 million TEUs, while Los Angeles improved 8.9 percent to 2.2 million TEUs.
