SoCal port officials win green award

SoCal port officials win green award CALSTART, a consortium of companies dedicated to expanding a high-tech, clean, energy-efficient transportation industry, has announced the 2007 winners of its Blue Sky Awards.
   This year the signatory Charles R. Imbrecht Blue Sky Innovation Award, awarded for innovative leadership in policy and technology that expands the clean transportation market, goes to two separate winners because of the global importance of both actions. Harbor Commissioner James Hankla of the Port of Long Beach and Harbor Commission S. David Freeman of the Port of Los Angeles were chosen for their teamwork with their organizations to create and implement the San Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action Plan.
   The award was also given to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and California Assembly Speaker Fabian Nu'ez for their passage of the AB32 legislation: The California Global Warming Solutions Act.
