Solicitations prepared for Jacksonville terminal    The Jacksonville Port Authority has created a Web site for contractors interested in bidding on the new $300 million Hanjin Container Terminal at Dames Point.
   The Web page provides contacts for those handling the construction and design contract.
   The terminal is expected to open by mid-2013.
   The port said it is working with Hanjin to develop contracts for public bidding for the development of their new terminal at Dames Point. A request for qualifications for the design of the terminal is expected to be published and available for public bidding this month. Design and permitting of the new terminal is to be completed 18 months after the design contract has been awarded. Once design is complete, the port authority and Hanjin will publish the construction contract for public bidding.
   In December 2008, port authority executives and representatives of the Hanjin Shipping Co. of Seoul, Korea signed a 30-year lease agreement calling for construction of a 90-acre container facility at the Dames Point Marine Terminal in north Jacksonville. The terminal will be a key hub operation for Hanjin’s East Coast port activity.
