Somali pirates end 2010 with more attacks    Two cargo ships were able to evade attacks by Somali pirates off the coast of Mozambique, Bloomberg reported.
   A European Naval Force spokesperson in the region said the attempted attacks were further south than any other previously recorded Somali pirate activity.
   The Liberian-registered NS Africa managed to escape two approaching skiffs, but the Panama-registered Majestic came under fire before escaping.
   Meanwhile, the EU Naval Force reported on its Web site that a fishing vessel carrying 14 crewmembers was captured Dec. 31 by pirates in waters between Mozambique and Madagascar.
   On Dec. 28, pirates released the German-owned Marida Marguerite, a bulk chemical carrier that was captured with 22 crewmembers on May 8, 2010 off the coast of Oman. No information was provided on whether a ransom was paid for the ship’s release.
