South Carolina ports' Groseclose named AAPA chairman

   The American Association of Port Authorities has named Bernard S. Groseclose Jr., South Carolina State Ports Authority president and chief executive officer, as chairman at the association's annual conference in Tampa.
   Groseclose has been at the port authority for 20 years and was named president and CEO in 1997, after serving as its director of planning and development. Prior to that, he spent six years with Rockwell International, rising to the position of manager of financial analysis.
   Groseclose is a member of the AAPA Executive Committee and third vice president of the International Association of Ports and Harbors, and has served on the AAPA Board for nine years. He is chairman of AAPA's Curriculum Committee and has served as chair of the association's Planning and Research Committee. He has also represented AAPA on the Marine Transportation System National Advisory, a statement from the AAPA said.
