In a notice to freight forwarders and shippers, Southwest Airlines Cargo said its current cargo handler in Milwaukee, Frontier Airlines, will close its facility on July 2.
The last day to ship inbound cargo to Milwaukee for pickup at Frontier will be June 29, followed by the last outbound shipments handled at the site on June 30.
Although Southwest has identified a new cargo handler, it said it will not be able to make the transition to the new operator for about 30 days. The airline said during the interim it will continue to serve its Milwaukee cargo customers via Chicago with “complimentary” road feeder service provided by Tax AirFreight.
The first day to drop off outbound Milwaukee shipments at Tax AirFreight will be July 2, while inbound shipments may be delivered starting July 3. For more details, contact Tax AirFreight at (414) 769-6565.
