SPD starts Indian supply chain, 4PL platform

   SourceProcureDeliver.com (SPD), based in Mumbai, India, has launched a new supply chain and distribution platform.
   The service is initially aimed at suppliers looking to enter the Indian market. SPD said companies currently face a risky choice of either shipping stock against confirmed advance paid orders or entering the market on their own without an existing order base.
   SPD’s platform introduces a supplier to its target segment and takes on the responsibility of handling the deliveries directly from the manufacturing plant, the Jebel Ali Free Zone, or from a free trade distribution center in Mumbai, directly to the end-user.
   SPD said it takes complete operational responsibility of the back-end and will integrate any third-party services on to a single real-time platform. This platform allows SPD to accept payments on behalf of sellers, settle payments, and ensure delivery of goods to the buyer.
   The company is owned by Altair Management Consultants, part of Dubai’s Altair Group (formerly AGL Group).
