SPEEDCHAIN LAUNCHES BROWSER-BASED SOLUTION    Speedchain Network Inc., a San Francisco-based provider of online logistics solutions, has introduced a browser-based system to manage extended supply chains.
   “Application service providers have lacked knowledge of specific supply chain business processes,” said Dr. Hau L. Lee, a professor at Stanford University and a member of Speedchain’s advisory board. He cited Speedchain’s improved “monitoring of data and operations, together with its ability to act promptly on behalf of supply chain members when things are detected to be out of control.”
   “We’ve seen an increasingly widening gap between the services that traditional logistics service providers can offer and the kind of services needed to stay competitive in B2B e-commerce,” said Jonathan Himoff, chief executive officer of Speedchain. “Our approach has been to bridge that gap and put control back in the hands of the customer.”
