Spohr named Lufthansa Cargo’s CEO and chairman
Lufthansa Cargo AG has appointed Carsten Spohr to chief executive officer and chairman of the executive board for a three-year term, starting Jan. 15.
Spohr was executive vice president of services and human resources on the board of Lufthansa’s passenger airline. He succeeds Jean-Peter Jansen, who stepped down as chairman in March for health reasons.
Stefan Lauer, who took over as interim chairman when Jansen left, will resume his post as supervisory board chairman of Lufthansa Cargo.
Karl Ulrich Garnadt, the German group’s representative and head of hub management Munich, will take over Spohr’s former role.
