SSA’s Stubkjaer receives Connie Award

The chief executive officer of SSA Inc., Knud Stubkjaer, who has over 35 years of expertise in the transportation, terminal operations and logistics industry, received the 2016 Connie Award.

   SSA Inc. CEO Knud Stubkjaer received the 2016 Connie Award by the Containerization & Intermodal Institute (CII) in Long Beach last Tuesday, CII said.
   Connie recipients are acknowledged for their influence on containerization in world trade and transportation and the non-profit organization has been presenting the award since 1972.
   “Mr. Stubkjaer was honored with the prestigious award for significant contributions to containerization and world trade and transportation industry, as well as for a pioneering spirit in his career and at the companies at which he worked and for a positive influence on the individuals up and coming in the industry,” CII said.
   The award was given by Jon Hemingway, a previous Connie recipient and Chairman of SSA.
   Stubkjaer, who joined Seattle-based Carrix/SSA in July 2012, has over 35 years of expertise in the transportation, terminal operations and logistics industry.
   He began his career with the A.P. Møller-Maersk Group in 1977, and from 1977 to 2007, he held various leadership positions in Asia and Europe, becoming the Head of Maersk Line United Kingdom, President of Maersk K.K. Japan and Regional Manager A.P. Moller-Maersk Group Asia/Oceania/Middle East.
   After 30 years with the Danish shipping group, Studkjaer joined the E.R. Capital Holding Group in Hamburg, Germany as a partner, serving as CEO of E.R. Schiffahrt GmbH, and from 2010, he was a vice chairman of E.R. Capital Holding.
   In addition, Stubkjaer has been a member of the Board of Directors for Panalpina World Transport in Switzerland since 2011.
