Stella! MSC ship breaks box record in New Orleans
The Port of New Orleans said a containership, the MSC Stella, last week broke a record by loading and unloading 2,870 containers at the Napoleon Avenue Container Terminal.
The Panamanian-flagged vessel operated by Mediterranean Shipping Co. transferred more containers than any other container ship that has called New Orleans, the port said.
“We’re excited about the trends of increasing volumes. This once again shows MSC’s commitment to growing cargo volumes through the Port of New Orleans,” said Jeff Hakala, vice president of New Orleans Terminals.
