STI names Nicolson as CEO
Specialized Transportation Inc. on Tuesday said it removed the interim tag from Ian Nicolson's title and named him president and chief executive officer.
Nicolson spent the last eight months leading the Fort Wayne, Ind.-based trucking company on an interim basis following the death of Rob Shearer from cancer. He began working for the company as a consultant in 2008 and joined the board in early 2009.
North American Van Lines spun off its High Value Products/Logistics division, STI's forerunner, in 2004. Nicolson managed the division for eight years before being promoted to chief operating officer.
STI, which provides custom handling for high-value products, has annual revenues of almost $250 million per year.
