STINNES KOREA HANDLES LOGISTICS FOR MEDIA AND SPONSORS AT SOCCER
WORLD CUP

Stinnes AG is handling logistics services in Korea for all media organizations, broadcasters, official suppliers and sponsors at the current soccer World Cup Korea Japan 2002.

A local office of Schenker Korea, staffed with nine employees, coordinates all customs and freight forwarding services for the media and sponsor organizations.

Supported by other Schenker companies worldwide, Schenker Korea has so far shipped equipment and materials for a volume amounting to 65 20-foot containers of sea freight and 250 tons of air freight, the German group said. The shipments included 14 outside broadcasting vans. In addition, Schenker Korea also coordinates the domestic transportation of equipment between the various locations before, during and after the matches.

Approximately 150 truck loads with a total of 450 tons of material have so far been transported from stadium to stadium.

Some 12,000 media representatives from across the world are attending the soccer world cup.
