Strategy sought to combat Netherlands cargo crime Rising cargo theft rates in the Netherlands could lead shippers of high-value products to bypass the country as a major distribution center, warns the Transported Asset Protection Association.
   Annual losses from increasingly violent cargo theft in the Netherlands exceed $330 million euros ($483 million).
   TAPA is organizing a one-day event in Amsterdam on Sept. 15 with law enforcement, government, manufacturing and logistics officials to develop a strategy to address the problem and protect the Netherlands as a primary distribution hub for high-value goods.
   Freight transport and logistics companies are invited to participate in the conference, which is chaired by Mark Bradley, global operations director for TNT Express.
