Study: South Florida global economic impact strong

Study: South Florida global economic impact strong South Florida hosts nearly 1,200 multinational companies that together manage more than $200 billion in revenue — more than the gross domestic product of all but the largest South American countries ' a study on South Florida's economic impact said.
The South Florida Global Economic Impact Study was conducted by WorldCity Business magazine with assistance from the Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County's public-private economic development agency.
There are 232 multinational companies with global headquarters in South Florida. The average annual revenue is $434 million. The 1,200 companies' $203 billion in revenues compares to the GDP of Argentina ($248 billion) and Venezuela ($227 billion), and exceeds Chile's GDP ($161 billion).
Although South Florida is known for its close ties with Latin America and the Caribbean, the study noted that after the 659 U.S. multinationals in South Florida, the countries with the most offices in the area are the United Kingdom and Spain with 59 each and France with 46.
The Beacon Council noted that major sponsors of the study demonstrated the economic diversity of South Florida. Sponsors included HP Latin America, Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Florida, Baptist's Health, the University of Miami School of Business, Telefonica USA, Seitlin Insurance, C.B. Richard Ellis, Diaz Reus Rolff & Targ, and Auxis Consulting.
