STUDY: U.S. TRAFFIC MANAGERS RATE SERVICE OVER PRICE
   Traffic managers of U.S. businesses emphasize service from
transportation providers over lowest price, according to a survey conducted
by Atlantic Mutual Cos.
   The of nearly 1,000 traffic managers found carrier responsiveness (70.1
percent) and best performance (68.8 percent) outweighed lowest price (46.8
percent).
   Managers surveyed said the emphasis on service is passed on from their
own customers. Nearly three-fourths of the managers said they were trying
to be most responsive to customer need.
   Nearly half the shippers in the survey (47.6 percent) said foreign
government regulations is the most difficult aspect of international
shipping.
