SUBARU SELECTS BAX GLOBAL TO HANDLE IMPORTED AUTO PARTS

BAX Global, the Irvine, Calif.-based transportation and supply chain management company, has signed a contract with Subaru of America, Inc., to provide air-freight logistics and customs brokerage for Subaru’s automotive parts coming into the United States from Japan.

“Freight will be shipped directly to Subaru’s regional distribution centers through our import gateway system,” said Crystal Cox, BAX’s vice president for U.S. imports and brokerage services.

A key component of BAX’s service is automating customs entries by using electronic commercial invoicing.

A subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan, Subaru of America, based in Philadelphia, markets and distributes Subaru vehicles and parts through a 600-dealer U.S. network.
