Suez Canal terminal picks GTS support software    The Suez Canal Container Terminal S.A.E., after a round of bidding, has chosen a systems support software from Global Transportation Solutions LLC (GTS), a provider of intermodal technology services.
   The facility will use GTS’s TOPS terminal management program, developed by Realtime Business Solutions, based in Sydney, Australia, a GTS partner. The software’s suite of applications will manage vessels, berths, crane allocation, container handling, radio data terminals, and security.
   The Suez Canal Container Terminal is being developed in Port Said, Egypt, at the Canal’s northern entrance. Scheduled to open in October, the 600,000-square-meter terminal is expected to handle 2.6 million TEUs a year.
   Suez Canal Container Terminal S.A.E. is a private joint venture company that obtained a concession to build and operate the facility.
