Robert A. Agresti, Summit's chief executive officer, had said days after his company announced its formation late last year that the company would use LOG-NET products because they had been used extensively by both FMI, one of several companies that were merged to create Summit, as well as P&O Nedlloyd, where many of Summit's senior executives had worked.
“We are very pleased to have LOG-NET as our visibility platform,” Agresti said. “We are very familiar with the system and our customers have always been extremely pleased with its functionality and dependable performance. The ability to provide end-to-end visibility down to the SKU level is becoming mandatory for 3PLs, and LOG-NET enables us to provide that to our customers in an economical manner. We believe this is a big differentiator for us in the market.”
Kenilworth, N.J.-based Summit is a third-party logistics provider operating primarily in transpacific trades, in the United States, Asia (including China, India, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam), Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East. The company operates both contract logistics and freight forwarding and non-vessel operating common carrier operations in about 25 key transportation hubs across the globe.
LOGNET develops integrated on demand, end-to-end supply chain services and active in more than 20 countries.
