Summit Logistics rebrands Asia unit

   Summit Logistics International said it will rebrand its Asia-based operations under the names Summit International Logistics (China) Ltd. and Summit International Logistics (HK) Ltd.

   The company has been using the name Sea Master Logistics,

   'We feel that the new brand for our Asia operation better unifies our services in the marketplace,' said Bob O'Neill, chief executive officer of Summit Logistics International.

   Summit noted customer will continue to offer all of the same services and operate offices in the same locations: Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, Tianjin, Dalian and Taiwan.

   In 2009, Summit expects to handle nearly 180,000 TEUs of ocean freight for customers in the retail, apparel, furniture and electronic industries.

   A third-party logistics provider, Summit provides supply chain management services in the United States, Asia (including China, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam), Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East and India. The company operates both contract logistics and freight forwarding/non-vessel-operating common carrier operations in about 25 key transportation hubs across the globe.
