Summit partners with Kaitong to offer Yangtze River service

Summit partners with Kaitong to offer Yangtze River service Summit Logistics International said it has entered into a service agreement with Kaitong Logistics Co. Ltd. to provide feeder services from the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Delta region.
   Carteret, N.J.-based Summit said this will allow it to offer customers faster transit times and more reliable connections from origins such as Hefei, Wuhu, Zhenjiang, Yangzhou, Taizhou, Zhangjiagang, Nantong, Taicang and Suzhou.
   Kaitong serves these ports with a network of six feeder services per week along the Yangtze River on vessels with capacities of up to 250 TEUs.
   Kaitong’s “expertise in this region strengthens Summit’s network in China, and provides our customers with a seamless service,” said Robert A. Agresti, president of Summit. He said both companies use the same computer system so “customers will have full visibility of their shipments and the confidence of knowing their cargo will be transshipped safely and securely.”
   Kaitong also offers warehousing and distribution services.
