SvitzerWijsmuller rebranding to Svitzer

SvitzerWijsmuller rebranding to Svitzer Global towage and salvage group SvitzerWijsmuller, owned by Denmark’s AP Moller-Maersk, is about to launch a new corporate identity as it concludes its takeover of Australia’s Adsteam Marine Ltd.
   Moving forward, all towage and salvage activities of the enlarged group will be branded as the much easier to say Svitzer, either Svitzer Salvage or Svitzer Ocean Towage.
   The group’s emergency rescue unit will continue to be known as ESVAGT while its 50-50 sea transportation company with Norway’s Wilh. Wilhelmsen Group, Express Offshore Transport, will also be left untouched.
   “Now that we have received acceptance from more than 90 percent of Adsteam’s shareholders, we look forward to bringing our two great businesses together,” said Jesper T. Lok, the group’s chief executive officer. “With more than 4,000 colleagues, operating 600 vessels in some 35 countries around the world, we have a unique opportunity to be the preferred provider globally of safety and support services at sea.”
