Swedish conglomerate taps DHL for ocean freight

The New Wave Group, a wide-ranging manufacturer whose brands include Craft, Speedo, Pax, Ahead, Clique and Kosta Boda, signed an exclusive three-year contract with DHL Global Forwarding for ocean transportation.

Swedish manufacturing conglomerate New Wave Group has signed an exclusive three-year contract with DHL Global Forwarding for ocean transportation, DHL said in a statement.
New Wave Group is a supplier of a wide range of promotional goods, gifts, and home furnishings whose brands include Craft, Speedo, Pax, Ahead, Clique and Kosta Boda.
DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight division of Bonn, Germany-based Deutsche Post DHL Group, will offer service to New Wave via a dedicated control tower in Gothernburg, Sweden. DHL said it would also provide New Wave with end-to-end visibility for all purchase items – from order placement, physical product consolidation services and customs clearance through to fulfillment.
New Wave Group CBO Magnus Claesson said the agreement would allow the company to better control its supply chain, improve vendor management and focus more on developing its brands.
“In DHL, we see an ideal partner to strengthen our position as a leading supplier of promotional products,” Claesson said.
“We look forward to working with our new customer New Wave Group and provide them with a strong supply chain solution that will assist New Wave Group in growing their business,” added Rikke Janum, senior business development manager, DHL Global Forwarding International Supply Chain.
DHL Global Forwarding’s International Supply Chain business handles around 2,400 TEUs of container cargo and more than 5,000 cubic meters of less-than-container-load (LCL) freight from Asia and the Middle East to the EMEA region on an annual basis.
