Swift names Stocking president, COO
Phoenix, Az.-based trucking firm Swift Transportation said it has promoted Richard Stocking to president and chief operating officer.
Swift founder Jerry Moyes, outgoing president, will remain as chief executive officer, as well as chairman, CEO and president of the firm's parent holding firm Swift Corp.
Stocking joined Swift 17 years ago. He has been executive vice president of sales since June 2007. He previously served as regional vice president of operations and executive vice president of the central region.
Stocking's new responsibilities will include oversight of Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Dedicated, Temperature Controlled, Mexico Operations and Information Technology for the firm.
