Swire Beverages picks Descartes solution for China

Swire Beverages picks Descartes solution for China    Swire Beverages, franchised to market Coca-Cola products in China, has contracted with Descartes Systems Group, a logistics services provider, for software to manage Swire’s sales and delivery operations in mainland China.
   Swire Beverages China will use the Descartes Roadshow software to model alternative sales and distribution scenarios for the 400-million-user Chinese soft drink market.
   The software also gives Swire “the ability to plan and balance workdays and workloads at an outlet level, which improves our capability to manage peak volumes,” said Doug Holland, group manager, sales operations, for Swire Beverages China.
   Swire Beverages is one of a group of strategic business partners of The Coca-Cola Company known as “anchor bottlers.” Swire has a franchise to manufacture and distribute Coca-Cola products in 10 U.S. states, Taiwan, Hong Kong and seven provinces in mainland China.
   Descartes Systems Group is based in Waterloo, Ontario.
