Swire New Zealand office for carrier integration

Swire Shipping said it has established Swire Shipping New Zealand Ltd., and that it will soon assume the liner shipping agency activities of Quadrant Pacific Agencies as well as the trade management responsibilities of Tasman Orient Line and Swire Shipping's Trans-Tasman and Tasman Arabian Gulf services.

TOL's corporate functions will transfer to Swire Shipping in Australia, the carrier said. Randy Selvaratnam has been appointed general manager of SSNZ, reporting to Steve Clark, Swire Shipping's general manager for international agency network and regional offices, based in Sydney.

Swire added that Elizabeth Bentley, chief executive officer of Tasman Orient Line, and Brodie Stevens, CEO of Quadrant Pacific, will assist with integrating the businesses into Swire's. Once the integration is complete in September, Bentley will conclude her role with TOL. Stevens' responsibilities for the other business units of the Quadrant Pacific group of companies are unaffected by the change.
