Swiss adjusts Europe, international services

Swiss World Cargo said last week it is changing the number of cargo flights to numerous destinations in Europe and internationally.

The airline will drop the number of weekly services between its hub in Zurich and four U.S. cities — Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago and Miami — from seven to six. Flights from Zurich to Delhi, Mumbai, Shanghai and Johannesburg will also be scaled back by one to six per week. These changes will be in place from the end of April to the beginning of July.

The airline is immediately stopping direct service from Zurich to Tripoli, and it is suspending continuing service from Bangkok to Singapore as of April 26. Shipments moving between Bangkok and Singapore will now be handled by Swiss' partners.

In Europe, Swiss is adding two destinations from Zurich — Oslo and Lyon — with four daily flights to Lyon and two to Oslo. The Lyon flights have already begun while the Oslo flights will start in June.

The airline has already increased the number of weekly flights to Valencia from four to seven.
