Swiss boosts cargo capacity to Newark

   Swiss WorldCargo on Saturday will start offering increased capacity on daily passenger flights operated between Zurich and Newark, N.J.
   The carrier’s parent Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. has replaced its leased Boeing 737s with wide-body Airbus A340-300s on the route.
   “Newark Liberty International Airport is an important cargo gateway in the greater New York area, well situated to serve the entire east coast of the United States with Swiss WorldCargo’s finely meshed road feeder service network already in place; from Newark, destinations like Philadelphia and Washington can be reached more easily,” the carrier said.
   Swiss noted pharmaceuticals are expected to be a key commodity on the route, with 15 of the industry’s largest companies located in the region.
   “Most of the products in our portfolio are available on both directions and we are sure that, with our trademark focus on time-sensitive and care intensive solutions, we will meet the demands of the customers in the fiercely competitive North American market,“ said Jack Lampinski, Swiss World Cargo’s managing director for the Americas.
   In North America, Swiss WorldCargo already offers multiple daily services between Zurich and New York’s JFK, with daily services to Boston, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Montreal complemented by truck services.
