Swiss WorldCargo adds flights to San Francisco

Swiss WorldCargo adds flights to San Francisco    Swiss WorldCargo said it will start direct flights between Zurich and San Francisco, effective June 2.
The cargo division of Swiss International Air Lines will operate a six-times-weekly service with wide-body A340-300 planes, essentially doubling cargo capacity to and from the region, which Swiss already serves via Los Angeles.
'Swiss is one of the few carriers which will be able to further expand their network in 2010,' said Jack Lampinski, managing director of the Americas for Swiss WorldCargo, in a statement. 'The new service to San Francisco shows that we are capable of seizing opportunities in a difficult market environment and we emerge from the crisis as a reliable partner for our customers.'
The new flights will be operated using existing plane capacity, and will be added in parallel to frequency increases on routes to India, South America, and Canada.
In North America, Swiss WorldCargo already offers daily service between Zurich and New York's JFK, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles and Montreal, complemented by a road feeder service that includes Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington and Toronto.
