Swissport names VPs

   Swissport International, a provider of ground services to the aviation sector, has appointed Martin Sodergard to senior vice president of cargo operations.
   He most recently supported Swissport’s U.S. operations as interim senior vice president of North America cargo. Joe Phelan has since taken over this role.
   Sodergard replaces Guy Ghysels, who becomes vice president of cargo operations for Europe, and his work in developing the integrator handling service will now be handled by Alan Wright, who was named vice president of integrator handling and hub outsourcing.
   Following Swissport’s acquisition of Flightcare in Spain and Belgium, Pedro Garcia will temporarily leave his role as vice president of cargo information systems and take up a six-month position as integration manager, reporting to the Integration Steering Committee chaired by Chief Executive Officer Per H. Utnegaard.
