SynchroNet, Canadian 3PL team on box interchanges
SynchoNet Intermodal Services has partnered with SNX Advance Logistics to support its Web-based virtual container-yard product in the Canadian market.
SynchroNet and its sister company SynchroNet Marine provide box interchange services for ocean, rail and trucking moves. The system is designed to help execute street turns of import boxes to export customers, and reduce repositioning expenses, without having to route all transactions back through the intermodal or marine terminal.
SNX will use SynchroNet's service to help customers locate containers and use its assets to bring their shipments to the available container when necessary.
SynchroNet has a similar arrangement with Schneider National in the United States (see 'Solving the export box dilemma,' March American Shipper, page 6-10).
