He replaces Guy Morel, who will retire from the association this summer. Morel served as InterManager's secretary general since 2007, and was also a founder and former president of the organization's predecessor, the International Ship Managers Association.
Szymanski will join InterManager on March 1 as secretary general-elect and will work alongside Morel until his retirement.
Prior to joining InterManager, Szymanski worked two years at MOL Tankship Management. Based on the Isle of Man, his previous experience includes management roles at Dorchester Maritime Ltd. and MOL Tankship, and commands on LPG, chemical product and gas carriers.
