TACA extends suspension of L.A.-Long Beach congestion surcharge

   The Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement, comprising seven ocean carriers, has extended through Sept. 30 the suspension of its congestion surcharge for the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Calif.

   As published in TACA's relevant tariffs, TACA's congestion surcharges had been $200 per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-45-foot container.

   Prior to Oct. 1, TACA will confirm either a further period of suspension, or the reapplication of the surcharge.

   TACA member lines are Atlantic Container Line, Hapag Lloyd Container Linie, Mediterranean Shipping Co., A.P. Moller-Maersk Sealand, Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Orient Overseas Container Line, and P&O Nedlloyd.
