TACA resists congestion surcharge again
The Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement said Monday it would not reinstate its Los Angeles-Long Beach port congestion surcharge of $200 per TEU at least through May.
TACA implemented a congestion charge at the Californian ports from Nov. 15 through Feb. 15, when it suspended it until further notice.
“The suspension of the congestion surcharge ' will continue for a further period, through May 31,” the carrier group said in a statement. However, TACA said it will continue to monitor congestion at the Californian ports every month and may resume the charge in the future.
