In accepting the position, Fabulich said he would not see re-election after his current term concludes Dec. 31. Since he joined the Port of Tacoma Commission in 1977, the Washington port has grown from handling just 85,000 TEUs a year to handling nearly 2.1 million TEUs in 2006.
At the same meeting, Dick Marzano was elected president of the commission, effective July 1. Current President Connie Bacon will continue to lead the commission until that time.
