Tanker, bulk carrier collide in Singapore Strait    Liberian-registered tanker “Chrisopigi Lady” collided with the Panama-registered bulk carrier “Yue Shan” late Wednesday in the Singapore Strait, about 3.5 kilometers southwest of St John’s Island.
   The empty “Chrisopigi Lady” was transiting westbound while the “Yue Shan,” loaded with 166,000 tons of iron ore, transited eastbound in the Strait on its way to the bunkering anchorage off Changi.
   According to the Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), both ships were warned by its vessel traffic information system before the collision.
   MPA said “Chrisopigi Lady” sustained damage on its starboard side while the front part of the “Yue Shan” was damaged, and that both vessels are now anchored in Singapore port waters.
   There have been no reports of any injury to crewmembers of either ship or oil pollution.
   MPA said port operations and vessel traffic in Singapore have not been affected by the collision and that navigational broadcasts have informed ships in the vicinity of the incident.
