TAPA offers reduced fees for new South Africa chapter

The Transported Asset Protection Association, formerly the Technology Asset Protection Association, is offering South Africa businesses a one-time 25 percent discount to join a new local chapter in attempt to counter the high level of cargo crime in and around Johannesburg International Airport.

'We are setting up this local TAPA chapter to provide direct support and resources for our member companies in the region,' said Steve McHugh, TAPA's head of strategy for Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

'We now hope that other South African manufacturers and freight service providers will decide to join our influential association because otherwise the issue of cargo crime will continue to grow and that is likely to force many of the world’s biggest organizations to consider moving their business to other, more secure locations.'

TAPA's offer is valid for companies that join before March 31.
