Teamsters organizing DHL drivers
The Teamsters union said it has successfully organized workers at four independent cartage carriers in the area around Allentown, Pa.
Teamster Local 773 said workers at two firms that deliver cargo for DHL — E.D. Express and Supreme Delivery Service — voted last week to join the union. It said in the prior week, employees at Jennings and Associates voted to become Teamsters and Northeastern Express voluntarily recognized workers’ wishes to join the labor organization.
The union said more than 12,000 workers in the DHL system are Teamsters compared to 200,000 workers at UPS.
