Temporary lock lane closure at Panama Canal
The Panama Canal Authority has announced lane closures due to planned, routine maintenance work.
On July 19-23, the east lane of the Miraflores Locks will temporarily be out of service.
On July 20-21, the East lane of Gatun Locks also will temporarily closed to operations.
During these lane closures, the West lane at each lock will be available to conduct relay operations that will increase throughput in one lane up to 60 percent, the canal authority said. It does not expect delays for vessels holding reservations.
